The app

Make it fit processes video files locally. It does not upload your video, create an app account, collect analytics, check a licence server, or automatically check for updates.

Compression creates temporary local files in your Windows temporary folder. The app attempts to remove them after completion, cancellation, or a handled error. A crash or forced shutdown may leave temporary files there. Your saved output and original remain wherever you store them.

First-time setup

When you choose “Set up video engine”, the app downloads FFmpeg directly from Gyan’s GitHub release over HTTPS. GitHub receives the usual network information, including your IP address. No video file or filename is sent with that download. The app verifies a pinned SHA-256 checksum before installing the engine locally.
